Meeting Spain -:Barbate 23 - 30/01/2013

Partecipants and their opinion

SPAIN

Hello friends,
it is my turn to write something about this special event we have celebrated at our school these days. When I´m writing this you have left and suddenly school is more silent than used to be the last week. No doubt, it was so different and special to share our time and our workplace with you that, coming to reality again one has the sensation that we left something to do. And it was so, for we couldn´t do the scheduled and we have even change the places where we were going to celebrete some of the acts. It was the weather fault., we couldn´t fight against the elements. Anyway we manage ourselves to have a nice time.
As organizators of this visit we prepared the questionaire on energy as we agreed in the first meeting in Sicily. We knew that energy is not usually taught at primary levels but it is important to know the price environment is paying cause the reliance our society has on non renewable energy sources. We must be aware of the importance that for Earth has we change this dependence of fuel and change habits and behaviors to achieve a sustinaible development without degrade or endanger life in our blue beautiful planet.
Thanks for being so nice partners. See you.

CZECH REPUBLIC

Four 12 year old students from the Czech rep. enjoyed the meeting very much. They appreciated "the energy outcomes" in Antonio´s school, were very happy to use their English to contact other students. They have tried different meals in Spain which was again good experience to be remembered. I hope they will keep in touch with their friends.

Teachers appreciate the materials and programme exposed in the host school. Accommodation and food service was great. We had lot of fun and saw many important and interesting places of present day /LECO factory, Fish factory/ and we visited history of Spain as well. The atmosphere was very friendly, we have met new teachers and we look forward to meet them again.

It was an amazing experience to meet all the participants of our project and admire their works about energy. We learnt a lot of interesting facts about the use of energy in other countries and we learnt ideas how to reduce the use of electricity. We could compare our data with the other countries` statitics. It gave us a visible view on what we have to improve to be more environmetally friendly, especially in terms of power use. The visit to a LED company made us realize what kind of electricity is the least harmful to our world and simultaneously encouraged us to look closer at the forms of energy used at school
and our homes. Students had a marvellous chance to make friends with foreign peers and improve their linguistic abilities. They could learn their colleagues` perception on energy issues by investigating their works, presentations, drama performances, discussions.

We can say about our first to Spain that the communication among both pupils and educators were so strong although we saw each other for the first time. You know the second mobility will be nicer because we have known each other since Spain. Special thanks to Antonio for his warm hospitality and although some negative conditions our hotel was nice because of the accomodation style, you know we were very close just danced together with different countries' music, did karaoke in every language and so on. I am so glad to know each partner and sure we will have more fun together. With our best feelings.

ITALY

A long journey brought us to visit a school in Barbate, where learning is strongly connected with practical doing and supported by new technologies.
We saw autonomous and bright children working, studying, playing, in a serene, cheerful, familiar and very ruled atmosphere. With these European teachers we have share experiences and planned new joint didactical activities. In a word: we learned  from each other.
We'd like to thank you to Antonio and his school staff, all the people that made this wonderful event possible.
Thank you boys and girls, for having allowed us to observe your school day and for your warm welcome. Your show was great!
We are back from this meeting with a spirit that surely helps to build up a joint European school. And, last but not least, thank you to all our partnership.
